Two Fair Fishermen
When H. II- Trowbridge, of the
Peai-e Jewelry store, laid off yester
day to angle for a few fish he met
Col. Firpo Monkers, of Herman's
filling station, and the two journeyed
to the Minam. I'arting company in
the professional fishermen ,manher
they agreed to meet down stream at
noon. Fishing was so good that
they mei-ely exchanged greetings at
long range each assuring the other
he had about a certain number of
trout. When they finally finished
the day and got Aiack to camp each
hail the same number of fish and the
fish all measured up to ubout an
even number of pounds for each
fisherman. "I claim that the day
of equity has arrived," remarked
Col. Firpo, "when two fishermen
from La Grande can go out and
break even on a day's fishing like
that."
