Hundred Ounce Silver Found In Rex Claim BAKER, July 14. Everybody knows Susanville as a mining camp. The people of that section all work at mining The district ha produced millions in wealth, but in recent 'years along with other mining sec Jtiony the production has dropped off and there nun not been as much do ling in the mines. This, however, jhas not dampened the ardor of those remaining in the district, and today 'everybody is working and good showings are resulting. I Some months ago the Hunter 'Brothers made a new discovery in ifilk Creek at Susanville, which they have named the Hex, that has at tracted much attention. The ore runs high in silver values, and they now have on the dump 60 tons of ore averaging 1000 ounces to . the ton which they will ship to the smelter at Sumpter. The ore has been taken out in sinking f.i0 feet. The work completed bas not dis closed the extent of the ore and there is every indication that they have a large body of it in the ship ping grade as well as milling ore. The ."hipping ore is about two feet wide and is being sent to the smelter without sorting. The weekly reporL of the Htntn f mneadamlzinif.
