La Grande last year proved beyond a doubt that the grand
' old game had returned to Union county's scat with all its former

' the setback at Raker in the opening game; the Pirates, as they are
dubbed by their backers, can make one of the finest showings in
athletic history in this section this season if they receive the moral
support of the fans. A crowd, cheering- them, backing them,
whether they are winning or losing, will give them positive know
ledge that the city wants their season successful. The grandstand
at the fairgrounds should be packed to capacity to greet the "home
team" in. their first appearance here.
