On the other- hand the feeling in La Grande is that the , Union invaders will be beaten. Prac tically nothing is known of Union with the ' exception that they have several good nien in the field events and their distance runners are rnt - ed high. In the sprints, the 100, 220 and 440 yard dash, the Blues should take many points, with Larson and Cap tain Price counted upon as win ners. Larson beat Price last year in the first two events but Price is expected by many to breast the tape in advance of Larson in both the 100 and 220 this season. The ability of the Union sprinters is praotically unknown here. Distance Jumns Doubtful, In the distances La Grande will probably rely upon Zimmerman, Ja cobson and Garrick. Smith, Lynch and Funk will rep lesent the Blues in the pole vault Cokor, kaey and Zimmerman in the high jump, and Larson, Lynch ami Glass in the broad jump. Brisk competition is expected in both the distances and the above mentioned field events. Union has several goot men in the jumps. Strong In Weights. La Grande is strong botlt in the shotput and the discus, with a fan chance in the javelin. Larson, Cok er, Stager will throw the rliscu. Pricc, Larson and Hunimelt the jav lin; and Larson, Smutz, Steinbeck the shotnut. La Grande is also strong in the hurdles. Larson, the mam standby in this event, both the high and low sticks, is running better than ever and Lynch is not fnr behind him. U Conned doesn t look so had tn thG high hurdles. -t- - . . La Grande Favored- .With considerable strength in the sprints, the Blues should take the relay, but this race is always a mat ter of conjectuve never won until the last man sprints across the tape. To the writer it appears that l;i Granite should win by about a 15 or 20 point margin but Union may spiiug some surprises and to all ap peaiance, the meet .will be closely contested throuvrhout . ; ; Knockout Was Fluke, Claim "Oniric's knockout, at the hands or Ted Kraehe, was one of thone regret table incidents that occasionally hap pen In thb world of liHtlairi purely and simplv a fluke." statml Olis Veal today, who, in company wit II Uu J Four Streams Closed To . When I was growing I became run-down and suffered with irregularities, but after taking Dr. Pierce's Favorite Prescription I got strong and had no more trouble. I have also taken Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Dis covery and found it an excellent purifier of the blood and for-dts-orded stomach. I highly recom mend both of these medicines of Dr. Pierce's as I have found them good and reliable." Mrs. Alice D.
