Corsets Are Not
What They Used to Be
, The corset for spring is a supple thing, low
in the back, by way of compromise, but higher
in front, and rather well boned. The new Gos
sard, front lace, and Warner, back lace, for
spring are here, and choice should be made be
fore selecting what is going to be worn on top
of them.

1 LEXINGTON Mar. 8. When W

tucky in .June he will be the first
student that has gone through the
institution without having had high
school work. Incidentally. C apt
Phipps' seven-year-old grandson will

nr.encement exercises.
The rules of the university permit
students who are of age to enter
as special students without the usual
entrance requirements, and to be
graduated only if sufficient standing
is maintained.
Four years ago Capt Phipps en
tered the university for training un
der the provision of the Veterans'
Bureau and matriculated as a special
student. Ho was 40 years old at
the time.
Cant. Phinns preparatory work was
done in the country schools near
his home. ''When I was a lad, the
captain explained, "there were no
high, schools in forty miles of me. I
have no entrance credits to offer."
Wounded during the war, Capt.
Phipps declared that he wihhed to
study for a life of quiet on the farm,
lie has won distinction in chemistry,
his favorite study, and is interested
in tfoil technology.
