I Owen Ho La Grande Is Among the Best We have our grief and our troubles over taxes in I.a (Jrande, but the fact is from a niiinicipal point of view we 'are better off than most of the Oregon towns. She has been an old fogy in some things perhaps, but to compare the financial condition of the city at present with the other cities of the state one is forced to a preciate the excellent condition we are in. The idea is to keep the city iir that condition. It can be done and to do so elect commissioners who have their feet on the ground, who do not get excited over anything but good business. l!e sane and practical and the city's credit will continue to be good. l!ear in mind when you pay your taxes that the city's por tion of that tax is not so bad as it may seem. When Hill Borah comes marching home he always grab Idaho no matter what the deflection has been, lie arrived in Hois? Wednesday and tins town turned out as. though a celebration of the armistice was being staged. Uoiah is out of line with half of the Idaho republicans on many questions, yet they vote for him and support him loyally. If he lived iu Oregon we doubt whether lie would have things that way, Anyway, Jesse Wiuhurn, the New Yoiker who is taking a dip in Oregon politics, is getting several thousand dollars worth of advertising from the venture, lie may yet announce the sale of a Wiuhurn chewing gum or a Winburn monkey wrench in older to cash the advertising.
