Mrs. E. A. Carnes died very sud
denly at the home of her son, Windom,
early Tuesday morninir. May 2. Mrs.
Carnes hail been in very poor health
and a incut suil'eier for sevcrul years
but still her su-hlen death came as n
gieat shock to her immediate family
nnd the relatives living near. She-
was bom in Indiana. August 20, 1870,
and came to Oregon while just a
young girl. She was' married to Eil-
waid A. Carnes on September !lr 1888,
to which union woie' boin two son,
Windom and Hume. Besides her hus
band and sons, she leaves to mourn her
loss her father, X. J. Harrison, of this
city,. and five brothers and three sis-
