Vice-presi dents in the several other counties 'will be in charge of the work of their particular counties. The organization has for one of its objects the education of poultrymen, including the farmers who have poul try as a side line, as well as the pou'. trymnn who makes it his specialty to raise poultry and eggs for th" market to u realization that the best way to make poultry a paying crop of the farm is to get awny from the old idea of letting hens roam around and forage for themselves. Efficient marketing, buying supplies to the best ndvantagc by pooling orders of th--members and thereby purchasing in large quantities on which better quo tations can be secured, are among the other matters that the association has : been working on for the past year. Although the meeting Saturday was one at which only the Union county section of Eastern Oregon was rep resented, 40 members were present. When the association was first or ganized n year ago there were times when only three or four members would be present at the meetings, the iffowth indicating increased interest in the problems of making the hen pay her board and a good profit on the farms of Kastern Oregon. Tile officers chosen for the year are I.. M. Jensen, who is in the business on n wholesale scale, president. Mr. Jensen's long experience and obser vation is expected to be one of the factors that will help guide the laig ! er organization into the success that ! the organization met with in Union , county during its first year.
