The conforence opens Friday all ernoon at 5M)0 with a song and Introduction meeting, v At 5:30 there Is schedul ed a short address on "The Chal lenge" followed by the appointment or the nominating committee to nom inate officers who will be elected al ma evening session nnd will preside over the conference throughout. The evening session opens at 7:110 and af ter tho Ad Iross of Welcome and Re sponse, Iho election and installation of officers, the principal address of i the evening will be given on the sub ject: "The Price of Physical Leader ship," by A. I' Ilittner. Institutional nnd Kducatloual Director of the Westminister church, Portland. Sat urday morning there are l.o bo two! fhort addresses one on "The Price! of Intellectual Leadership," by Mr. Ilittner, and one on "Hoys and the World Progrnm." by J. W. Palmer, and two discussion periods. The conference photograph will lie taken nr. noon, and alter lunch there will be an open discussion followed by delegation meetings. The time from 3:10 on until 6:15 will be given ov er to recreation, there being a foot ball game scheduled between llenp ner and an outside ten in. At 6: IS the banquet will be held in the -Patrick hotel and will be the big social feature of the entire conference. Sun day will probably be the best day of all. The delegation will attend church and Sunday school in the morning with I heir host and hostess. Then nt 3::to there will be n big mass meeting for all boys of the confer 'eme and other older boys of Hcpp ner. This meeling will be addressed by W. W. Dillon on "Thn Price of Christian Leadership." The closing session of the conference will lie held Sunday evening at "::! when there .will be short talks by boys and le.id j ers, and a short address by .las W. Palmer. This meeting is open to Iho public generally. 1 Mr. Yount expectB to see between 150 and 175 boys registered at the conference. STARKKY, Oct. 10 (Special) One of th finest social events for Siurkey tblH season was the dance recently held at Ward Smith's home. It was a fine time wilh a fine sup per and good music. .Mr. and Mrs. Scott and daughter. Donnu, from the Hilgnrd store, were out. to the dunce. Mrs. Scott being an accomplished musician, rendered piano musjc during tho evening. Don na accompanied her mother on the violin. " Italph Sullivan has finish hauling his grain to La Cirande. A few days ngo lie ran onl'o a cougar which looked too fierce for Paul so he hiked for the camp. Grizzly bear tracks were also reported by Paul who is a man nfter big game. He followed the tracks to a hole in the bluff but decided It would be health ier not to remain until the grizzly put in an appearance. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Starrlo and sis ter and brother-in-lnw, Glen Brown have gone to Haines by wagon to vis It relatives and friends for about a week. The late rains have started the grass and the grazing is good just now when the sheep are being driven from the mountains. " Pat Gnugherty lias taken his sheep off the range. ' John Healy of Heppher 'took' out two bands of woolles this week. Tom Blbbons of Birch creek has taken out one band of sheep in the last few days.
