The fur on them is of various colorings and never comes out; while the skin itself never lets water' go through it. Mr. Miller says that1 water sheds off the sealskin just like1 off a duck's back. I Then there arc foxes of many oth ' er colorings. One fine silver grey, skin is included and there are many crosses between the red and silver grey as well us many red foxes. Many' of the skins have already been made up. ( Alaska muskrats also arc found in' large number in Mr. Miller's c-ollec-1 lion. There are IMO'of these skins.' Mink, whose culoring is identical in all specimens, are also found in large! numbers, there being 4110 of them. One notable feature about the mink is! their size. They arc almost of arm's' length, and, as in coloring, they arc! I all the same length. Martens and bear skins arc in the collection too. I Besides those furs, Mr. Miller brought back with him a large as ! rortmont of Indian moccasins. Some arc buckskin anil some are mink, whilP others ate sealskin. The latter are wear-resisting and Mr. Miller tells of one pair that has been worn two years anil the fur on the soles has not been worn out yet. , Skins und moccasins arc not all Mr ! Miller brought back with him. He has memories of fine fishing and of see ing some of the finest scenery ho' ever laid eyes upon. A view of Mt ! McKinley early one morning will stand out in his memory for many vents. Mr. Miller says. He hail been fishing at Mile 271, -along the rail-1 road, and early in the morning en trained for the coast. The mountain, air was unusually light and as he got. on the train he could see Mt. McKin ley, which was about f0 miles dist ant, ns plain as the Mt. Kniily foot hills can be seen from La Grande.
