Hifrgnns, of Denver, is dead; James
O'llrien, of Spokane, is shot through
the neck; Al Sollentine, of Mount
Vernon, deputy sheriff of Skagit
county, was shot throuKh the left jaw
in a pistol battle in a hotel at Mount
Vernon today. HiKfrms and O'Urien
wore suspected dope runners1 and
Sheriff Reay and Sollentine went to
arrest them During Rcay's tempor
ary absence from the room, the sus
pect disarmed Sollentine and covered
him with their guns. Reay returned
and opened fire, killing Iliggans and
wounding O'Brien.
