', Bruce Cox reported on tiie meeting of the Intermediate Kate association held recently at Bait Lake City where.! Mr. Cox was the only representative fsoin the state of Oregon. Mr. Cox pointed out that ninety-seven organ izations were represented at this meeting. , Mr. (. (i read several of the import ant communications sent to the in terstate commerce commission by the association, some of which were signed by representatives of the nin.e. ty-seven organizations ut the meet ing.. In one of these It was pointed out tlilit tbe rates anktd on ?reen coffee from New Orleans and Galveston to Pacific coa:st terminals would be less than the sume rates on the same roods to points in the intermountuin country where the distance from the points of origin is not so Kreat. These rates, if nllowed to beccmie- effective would be "unjust, unreasonable and discriminatory,'' according to the let ter to the commission. Department Asked.
