Joe Snodgrass and party, who left
here some time since, arrived in Oro,
Oknogan county, on Nov. 24, making
the trip in 16 days. Considerable
rough weather was experienced, but
no mishaps occurred.
Three ricks of hayi aggregating
about 50 tons, on Pcebler's ranch near
Ladd Canyon, were destroyed by fire
Saturday night, about 12 o'clock. The
fire was evidently of an incendiary
origin.

In the case of the stult vs. Evan
Carver, which came up for trial at
Union last week, tho defendant's plea
of murder in the second degree was
accepted, and he will be sentenced ac
cordingly. He was once convicted of
murder in the first degree, but secur
ed a new trial.
