COVE, Feb. 5. (Spe-Ul.) After a brief illnes, Mrs. Minerva n.irnes died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Sills, in Cove, February I, 11121. Minerva Kiigore was born Dec. 18.'!:j, in Ordrain County, Missouri. She was married to O. P. Ilurnes, June Hit 1R54, at Princeton, Mercer, Co., Missouri. They came to Cove K 18t:i, where they made their hone until 188li, when they removed to Wallowa county. , Mr. Barnes died in 11109 and in I'.TJ Mrs. Barnes returned to Cove, where she made her home with her daugh ter. Nine children w-ere born of this union, seven of whom survive: Vm. Burnes, of I'ine Valley; P. H. Barnei, Lewiston, Idaho; Mrs. Ada Day, and Mrs. Harriact Day, Kenncwick; Mrs. Arminta Sills, Cove; Mrs. Alice Fisher, Boise, Idaho, and Mrs. Anna Achurch, Pendleton. II. A. Lindgren, livestock special ist of the Agricultural College, is in La Grande as one of a committee which will select a shipment of pure bred Shorthorns from Union county breeders for shipment to Klamath counly. L. A. West, chairman of the livestock project of the Klamath County Furm Buiciu, will arrive Monday to assist Mr. Lindgren in hi. selection. , Mr. West assisted in selecting -n shipment last year secured from Townlcy and DeUty, Sherman and Hutchinson and Green Brothers, of Union. These cattle were consigned and sold at auction in Klnmath coun ty for the highest average figure at tained in nny Shorthorn sale in the Northwest last year.
