That William G. McAdno can now

ciation, is now apparent, according to
the Pendleton East Oregonian, which
tells the story as follows:
That little button Win. R. McAdoo
wore on the lapel of his coat, what did
it signify?
Many noticed the unusual decora
tion the former treasury secretary
Wore when he w-as Pendleton's gtlvs
at the lillil liomul-un. but few stopped
to inquire what it signified. Pitiless
publicity was given every more made
for the entertainment of the party, so
it must be, many thought, some insig
nificant matter. Rut they were wrong,

agent to chronicle the things they did
to help entertain McAdoo.
One day during the show McAdoo
was invited to the Indian camp to take
part in some motion pictures being
made by I.eland J. Hurrud, camera
man. True to his promise to do ''any
thing you ask," McAdoo appeared to
take part in the filming of the Indians.
The picture being made by the cam
eraman probably had considerble fic
tion in its plot, but the ceremony
which was filnied was no fiction. A
small group of prominent Indians
gathered about Mr. McAdoo and.
while the eye of the camera caught it
all, presented him with a token of es
teem from the Indians.
James Hadroads made the speech.
He told McAdoo of the "nigh regard
the truVs of the reservation hold for
him. made him understand that he
would always be welcome among
them nnd that they were his friend?.
