In her letter Mrs. Cross Intimates thatl she yearns just a little for her old time friends in La Grande. To Teim li In Ashland Mr. Ira Wilson, Mr. Ross Blankon Bhlp and Mrs. W. Burroughs left thi3 morning on No. 17 for Ashland. The party are from Northern Missouri and havo been visiting C L. Smith and family at their home the city. Mr. Wilson goes to Ashland to accept a position as principal oT the Junior High School at that place. Buck From Auto To"r Barney Harris and family return ed from an extended nutomonile tour of northern Oregon and Wa.sjiington. Stockman Here John Green of the firm of Green Bros., famous for their slirol horn cattle, is a La Grande visitor today, from Union. The big 1-abor Day wrestling con test between John Freberg, of Chica go, and Ihke Howard, of I.a irande, will ling together two of the great est heavyweights in tho wrestling world. Through the efforts of John E. Anderson, on behalf of the Central Lajior Council, the sporting fraternity of Eastern Oregon will be provided the' opportunity of witnessing a won-, derful match, no doubt the classiest go La Crnnde has ever seen, and very likely will ever again bo able to stage. It is a contest that is wor- j thy of only the big wrestling centers, and is only possible from the fact that Howard has been spending tho sum mer in Ia Grande. Both men have wrestled for the largest promoters in the country, and within u short time will again be in the east and middle west, especially so in the case of How ard, who is much sought after by eastern promoters. The match will be held at tho Star Theatre, and should draw a packed house. Mr. Anderson, who has been reponsible for the appenrence of some of the best 'wrestling talent iu thf game, in La Grande, is handling this match for the Centnl Labor Council in connection with tho big celebration next Monday.
