The original date was a week later and an attempt was made to have Hoose- velt change his itinerary and be inj irugun ui inai nose, lie wireu inai 4 would be impossible ami the moun tail having refused to come to Maho met, the state committee changed th' convention date. On August 15, the executive com mittec of.Oreiron will select a conven tion committee on which there will bi jnembers from all parts of the state. to facilitate plans, the active members probably will be from Portland post, as that is the organization which will be host to the e-service men of thi state and will have to handle the de tailed plans. Utoosevelt, as is generally known, n a member of the national executive committee of the American legion and one of the overseas officers who visioncd the great after-war organiza tion at the Paris caucus. The St. Louis caucus cemented the tics be tween the forces still overseas and those in this country and a working organization was formed which is to continue at work until the national convention to be held at Minneapolis on November 1 1, anniversary of the signing of the armistice. At the Oregon state convention del egates will be scftctcd to the national convention and permanent state offi cers will be elected.' The temporary officers aro 10. J. Kivers, chairman; Dow V. Walker, secretary, and llarge R. lA'onard, treasurer. W. H. Kollett, of Kugenc, is state representative on the national executive committee.
