THIRD TIME.

morning, after fire had destroye'd thei.'

Kerr hiid a little good luck along
with this misfortune, however, for li
wirs but four days before that they

household goods.
The fire which destroyed the- Kerr
home started shortly after 9:30 o'clock
Friday, but the manner of. in
beginning has not yet heen discovered.
Mrs. Kerr had been pressing some
clothes und had a hot fiio gn,-and she
also had a lamp burning on one of the
dressers, when she left the house Co
call a neighbor to. tho telephone. Shi
was away a few minutes and' whep
she returned the interior of her home
was in flames. She was unable to
save anything but a few chairs and a
kitchen table. ' Everything else was
cither consumed fir so sevorely dam
aged jis to be valueless.
The building was a small .wooden
stnicture and burned rapidly,, though
the firemen mwtnged to got the flames
extinguished and prevent it being en
tirely destroyed. The property .has
been handled by the La Grande In
vestment Company and was rented by
the Kerr family.
This makes the third time lint Mr
nd Mis. Kerr have been burned out.
.The other time they .were not Uisured
and suffered heavily. Mr. Kerr works
in the O.-W. shops.
