S. A. ROB. Last niitht at the Star Theatre, (Mike Howard (Harold Christi'soi:) Ucmyiistiated that he is one of the toughest prcf)i.si;iuns in realig jjame ever j appear before a I.a CIrande audience on the mat. The bit fellow took two falls out of three from Peter Visser, of Ojrden, nt'ter perhaps the hardest struirtfle between heavy weights ever slan'el bere. And to lose to a man of Howard's ability does not in the least detract fiom the wrestljiiK capabilities of Visser, who shwetl a knowledge of thf name that was well niph a revelation to local follow ers of tho grappling game. , Howard perhaps is the hardest heavyweight to bent in this section of the country.. Many times during the contest last night he came out of holds fastened onto him by the Utah train, when only super human strength and a thorough knowledge of the game would accompH.-h the task. After the match, Visser said that Howard was almost in a class by him- self among the heavyweight wrestlers ! in this section. Today i'ronmter An derson stated that he will endeavor to urrange o match between Howard and so n 10 top notch henvyweigfit,to be held in La Grande at the near future. In the meantime, Mr. Anderson says that if any person can produce a wrestler to go against Huward, all that is necessary is to name the grap- us no man is barred by Howard. This takes in Hie whole shouting match, from the present world's cham pion clear down the line. The contest went to three falls, the first to Howard in foity-utie minutes and twenty-six seconds, with a body scissors and half Nelson, while Visser took the second fall with an arm scissors. Howard took the third fall in record time with a back-heel hold, in forty-nine seconds. " The attendance was not so large as ut some of tho contests staged by Mr. Andersen, but everything was run off smoothly, as promised. will Halarir'i of Ku?vmc teachers probably be adam-ed this year", ac cording to W. 1.
