Twain's Story.

atrc tomorrow and Thursday, with
Theodore Roberts in the title rolo.
The story has to do with ljiwyci

On his first day in ine vimitie v
makes a remark that induces one oi
the town wits to will him "Pudd'n
head," a nickname that clung to him
throughout liis life.
With his smr-11 glass slips, he se
cures among others, the finger prints
of Tom Driscoll, six months old and
of Chambers, six and one-half months
old, the baby of Roxy, a mulatto slave
owned by the. Driscoll family. These
babies are children of the same father
and look much alike.
ltoxy changes the babies and passes
off her child as the heir of the Dris
colis and thus-makes the real heir the
slave. Twenty years later, le false
Tom Driscoll returns from college,
sells his real mother as a slave and in
a fit of temper, mu
lers his wealthy
uncle. Tom, jealous of the interest
the beautiful Rowena Cooper takes iil
Chambers, tries to. fix tho crime on
him. Chambers is about to be lynch
ed by the indignant whites when Pud
d'nhcnd" announces that he is the
slave's attorney and insists upon a

marks and at the trial forces Roxy,
the slave, to confess that she changed
the babies in their cradles. The real
Tom is acquitted and goes to Rowena,
