to make an extended visit at Wil

Mrs. John Dean, of Cove, leaves
this evening for Portland, where she
will visit with relatives. Mrs. Dean
will remain in Portland until after
the meeting of Grand Chapter of the
Order of Eastern Star, which meets
June 11.
Mrs. Edna Morrison, one of the
Observer force, left last night for
the metropolis to look, after business
matters. She will be absent from
La Grande until the first of the week
and while in Portland will attend
several social functions of her for
mer neighbors and friends.

of Imblnr. has just returned from
a convention of the Oregon Kelief
Instiranco compnnyV agents at
McMlnnville. A great deal of im
portant business was transacted at
this meeting, according to Mr. j
Bellamy, pne of the chief things
being the adoption of a new, policy;
form. Addresses were delivered by
men prominent In insurance work .

renewed energy and admiration for
