To the application of tho selective draft in practice as well n3 theory, which shall insuro organization of tho national army and at the samo time roservo tho necessary labor and supplies for the continuation of our indus trial pursuits nml commerce. 3. To an equitable control and regulation of food supplies, commerce and industry, and tho establishment of a primary market in l'ortlnnd on equal basis with ChiciiKo and eastern ports. 4. To a nation-wide prohibition and to all measure which shall make it practicable nnd operative and not theoretical. 6. To permanently establish equal suffrage, in both state and nation. 6. To establishment by the federal government of n naval base at the mouth of the Columbia River. 7. To effective rural credit legislation and administration with a par ticular view to it adaptability to the needs of Oregon. 8. To construction by the federal government of a militory highway along the Pacific Const, nnd federal aid in the construction of "permanent highways.. 9. To sec that Oregon participates, all things being equal, in national trade, commerce and industry, and that our state is given recognition in the federal expenditures made .necessary by the war. 10. To legislation whifn shali bring to a settlement tho public lands question ,nnd the greater development of Oregon's natural resources .includ ing the development of water power, reclamation of arid, swamp uud logged off lands. 11. To the development of Oregon's great shipping porta, through fed eral improvement of waterways and harbors; the maintenance of a merchant marine of the Pacific Ocean, and a just recognition on the part of the federal government of tho Importance, vnlue, commercial ami industrial advantage of Oregon's location, situation nnd harbor and shipping facilities, 15. To a policy of conservation nnd reconstruction whi -b shall insure our national integrity, honor and commerce nnd the moral anil civic purity of our people. ' - lfl. PORTLAND, Jan. IS Today's of fering showed a fairly heavy run of valley Iioks, a very llejit run of cat tlo and a fair supply of sheep, very row of which were on tho open mar ket. Tho entile market was very active throughout tho day nnd everything that was offered, which contained nothing qualified to really test the market, changed hands at tho top of tho quotations throughout the vaiv ions classes. The hulk of tho offer ings in the yards today were dis cards from dairies nnd drive ins of questionable quality. There have been no ideors on tho mnrket since Monday. One of the heaviest de mands In tho cattlo department is for feeder nteers of a thin quality, of which tho supply is entirely Inade quate. Offerings In tho hog alloy contlnuo lo be of Inferior quality although they have gono readily at the top end of the quotations. Hogs are really about 10c better than quotations pre viously put down. We quote as fol lows: Prlmo lights, 15.55-15.70; prlmn heavys, 15.110-15.75.
