C. HAMILTON (United Press Staff Correspond! it.) NEW YORK, Jan. 10.--F.mI F;.l- SAVE COAL PRACTICE WAR-TIME EFFICIENCY Don't follow the old, wasteful conl-burning methods. Make every shovel-lull count. The following simple rules will make ROCK SPRINGS COAL go farther. Read them and, before you forget it, hang thii up for future reference. 1. Keep the fire pot full. A thin fire lets in too much cold air, and most of the heat goes up the chimney. 2. Keep your fuel bed reason ably compact by using part fine coal. Cold air foes through a pile of big lumps too freely 3. Use the fine coal particularly for banking over night, and in mild weather. 4. Rock Springs is one of the hottest coals mined. It hist:: a long time, too, if kept, un der restraint. Restrain it (a) By putting on the dam per and shutting off part oi the dratt as soon as the tire gets well under wnv: HO And bv tiartiallv hmikine- fi I with line coal. A steady, glowing tire (not a ronniv: fire) is the kind that gives the most heat and saves the most coal. 5. Keep the ashes well away from under the grates. 6. Don't shake the fire in mild weather. The little ash pro duced bv Rock Springs Coal is invaluable for slowing do your fire. 7. Don't shake the fire in cold weather after sparks begin to fall into the ash nit. 8. Keep your smoKe pipe dam per chocked off as much possible at all times. Remember that Smo!:e and Dirt are always wasteful.
