Dr. Cillmore has them all beaten, lie and his wife, in company with Mr. and Mrs. Boss Miller wore coming from La Grande Thursday night when they got off the road some place near Mt. Glenn, got stuck In the mud and had to sit there until Friday morning when Chas. Squires went but and brought them to town. They report a very pleasant time. The dance given In Imbler New Yoar's eve was a decided success socially. Every one had a fine time. There were not so many present as there would have fieen if It hadn't been such a bad night. Carl Stackland of Cove returned Friday to finish packing his apples. Mr. and Mrs. Sherwood Williams wont to La Grande Friday evening on business. The pupils of the seventh and eighth grades gave Miss Cordery o surprise party in the Bon Ton hall Friday evening. A very plensant time wan had. Light refreshment were sei'.ed at a late hour. Mrs. Chrlstenson has been teach ing the seventh and eighth grades of our school the past week. The Imbler school tendered Ar thur Martin, who Is In France, a birthday Bhowor in the shape of post cards.
