Dear Mother and Sister:
Friday, 10:30 A. M. and our
"Thanksgiving" Is all over. But we
sure had' some dinner and everyone
had plenty to cat. Our menu was
as follows: Turkey, dressing, mashed
spuds and gravy, asparagus, peas,
sliced peaches, bread and butler, cof
fee, sugar and milk, cako, so you
see no one was slighted and every
one was satisfied. I got the "blues"
yesterday when I thought of how
much we had to eat and to see these
French people go Into a store here
and got their dally allowance of
bread; probably never have had that
much to cat In a life-time, for ono
meal. Last night wo lopped it with
"champagne." Everybody bore
drinks wlno and in fact It Is more
plentiful than water and Is Just as
common or moio so to the French
people.
Wo got to witness a football game
yesterday before dinner between two
companies of engineers and it was a
dandy.
Outside of a little mud It Is fine
hero and has not been very cold yot.
We have seen snow only once and
thai was1 a few mornings ago when

you want, which is generally the
.case, they make a few motions to us
with their, hands and say "Finish,"
meaning "all gone." About nil we
know is "wee, wee," monning "yes,"
and "finish." Wo still do most of
oar talking with our hands and the
other day I took my washing up to
sorao. woman and wo had a regular
hand to hand conversation.
One of the boys made up a song
and a poem that I will send you for
they aro pretty good.
Well, dear ones, I had better quit
as it will soon be dinner time. Give
papa and Ted lots of love for me nnd
lots and lots to you both.riease don't
worry for I am fine and feel dandy.

They doctored mumps and measles,
and crabbed about the "mess;"
