If a class of twenty or more signify a desire to take the course, the board vill endeavor. to provide the instruction. The course will bo free and will be offered two hours each night, six nights each week, provided twenty or more, who are eligi'ile, may enro Eligibility for enrollment is ns fol lows: Only conscripted men due for the second and following drafts, who have passed a preliminary physical examination and are sure to be called. This eliminates girls and women, per sons under military age, persons con scripted but unable to pass a physical examination, persons not conscripted, persons exempted for any cause, and persons seeking free training along commercial lines for service with rail roads, telegraph companies and pri vate concerns. Persons who show nc ability to become successful operators will be dropped early from the course The army needs 18,000 radio and buzzer operators for service in the signal corps of the army at the earli est possible date. We are asked to assist in training those operators. Their names will be filed with the army authorities at Washington nn-' when thev reach the cantonments. they will probably be assigned to rndie und buzzer work. The student wnc becomes proficient will enter the army asfn trained rather than an untrained man. Entering ns a private, ho has an excellent chance for promotion tc the rank of corpora! or sergeant, with a wage of S:i to $51 monthly, and in proportion to his ability and interest, to the position of muster signal clec tricinn.
