(Special) The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hazel- wood is visiting in Elgin at the home of her parents. Mrs. Stafford has lived in Chicago the past few years. Mrs, J. A. Masterson of this city left luit Tuesday for Portland, where she will undergo a surgical operation. The men who have spent the most of last week searching the woods for a young girl believed to be lost there have leturned. All hope of finding any trace of her has been given up by authoiities as well as local citizens. Mr. S. A. Chappell, who is now a local farmer but who was formerly a druggist in the City Drug Store, will a ill the place in that store made vacant by George Burtmur. Mr. Frank Galloway, a druggist of Cove, and his wife were visitors in Elgin h.st week. ' Mr. tnd Mrs. Frank Keller re turned yesterday morning from a business trip in the Willamette Val ley. ' The parent-tteachersy organization will meet in the High school building tomorrow evening. The election of officers and discussion of the year's work will follow a well-arranged pro gram. Monday evening a social wirf be given in the assembly room of the Higii school, when tho freshmen will be .made full-fledged members of the High school by the upper classmen. A foot ball game will be played at Elgin next Saturday afternoon be tween Enterprise and Elgin. The El gin High school girls are out boost ing the game which promises to be a good contest.
