In this production Miss Ward has throe unusual roles in that she plays the mother and her two daughter. This would be a most trying and con fusing task for the average artiste, but Miss Ward with her wonderful knowledge of dramatic ;rt and her usual cleverness, gives each a distinct and separate characterization which leaves no confusion in the minds of the nudience. "The Crystal Gazer" has to do with Rose and Norma Jorgonson. Thoir mother, living in a poverty stricken tenement, commits suicide and Rose is adopted by Judge and Mrs. Keith, while Norma is taken over by Mrs. Pugnn, a woman of the tenements. Under his guidance she becomes an hypnotic subject and Cal istro is taken up by fashionable so ciety. At a social entertainment Cal istro notices the resemblance be tween Rose and Norma. The girls do not know each other and Calistro se cures information to prove that they nro both daughters of a condemned murderer. With this he confronts Rose, and she, realizing her position, breaks her engagement with Dick Al den a young millionaire, and flees to Bermuda.
