Call Red 1311. 7-26-lm FOR RENT Furnished Rooms, 1914 Second St. 7-282tpd The editors of Oregon and some from other states as invited guests, gained a knowledge of the resource and scenic beauties of eastern Oregon, which they will carry to many distant localities. They will tell by spoken word and in undying type of the su perb hospitality and magnificient spir it of friendship poured out so splen didly by the delightful people of east err Oregon. The Pendleton spirit, which has made itself felt on more than one occasion, was chiefly re sponsible for the unusual tribute of esteem and respect towards the mem bers of the Oregon press. This testi monial to a class of men and women, who labor intelligently, unceasingly, unselfishly and courageously for com munity, state and national welfare, is the more to be appreciated by the edi tors because of the people of Pendle ton being able to grasp the large im portance of the service prformd by the editors, as touched on by Pendle ton speakers. The editors of. Oregon and their friends will be ever grateful for the Pendleton spirit that conceived and carried out so faultlessly, with the co operation of their community friends, the exceedingly enjoyable and instruc tive annual convention and outing which was held last week in Pendle ton. The 2 car loads of steers might have been class ed as good smooth feeders but carried sufficient kill to get them across in the beef class and they went over the scales at 7.50. Feeders and cows were divided up in several classes bringing from 4.50 to 6.50, but were not typical for their several classes. The market quo tations on the material should remain about the same. Hogs . About 400 hogs came to the yards during the day and were de livered immediately from the chutes to the scales, at steady prices with out close distinction as to classes. Sheep The sheep market still continues to drag more or less the movement being not so prompt as in the hog alleys but everything was sold from the yards before 2 o'clock at 10.75 to 12.50 for lambs and 8 to 8.50 for wethers.
