Such are the conclusions of W. D. Sidebottom, now on the battlefront of France. Judge George J. Cameron, of Portland, today has a letter from Sidebottom discribing his front line experiences. . "So far 1 am alive and well, al though I have had two or three ex citing nights in No Man's Land. This game at hide and seek in the dark with life at stake is rather uncanny and a great strain on your nerves., especially if you are selected to be an advance man for a raiding party. E 8th Regiment Reserve Engineers. Austin Brownell, of La Grande, is in Co. F of the same regiment He says they drill from 8 a. m. to 8:30 p. m. every day.
