(United Press) Eight thousand Ave hundred acres of burned overland in the Mount Hebo district in Tillamook county, Oregon, have been replanted In young firas, according to totals compiled today by Forest Examiner H. (Special) For his own protection as well as to facilitate the progress of the draft, every man in Oregon who registered for military service should make it a point to learn the new number of his registration card. These hew numbers are different from those on the green (or blue) registration certificates. , " ! True, the number on a man's cer tificate is the same as that written on ihis registration pard at the time he registered. But under orders from the War . Department, the .numbers of all the cards have been .changed fail the past two weeks. ; 1 The new numbers are' written on 'the cards in red ink. They run by ; counties, instead of only by precincts. ! The county will be the unit of the. draft and these new numbers are to . be used in the drawings. , The first drawing will be made at Washington within the next few days. The numbers drawn will be an-: nounced to the press and also tele- i graphed to the ' Adjutant General. The Adjutant General will consult the files in his office, which contain dupli cates of ail the registration cards from the state, ascertain the names of the men belonging to the numbers, and notify the county board. I These county boards will mail noti fications to the men who have been called in their respective .counties. 'These notifications will direct them to appear for physical examination at a date set, which must be within seven days. ' v.i It can readily be seen how import ant it is for each man to know his own number. Failure to receive a 'mail notification will not be accepted as an excuse for not appearing for 'examination.
