We left Frisco on the stroke of 12

PENDLETON MAN KILLS
WIFE, THEN HIMSELF
Pendleton, July 5. (United Press)
John Bowman, a carpenter this
morning shot and killed his wife and
committed suicide after a desperate
struggle between the two.

Don't "Rough It" Without Proper
Equipment.
"Do not start on a long trip with
out proper equipment," says Zoe A.
Tilghman in the June Woman's Home
Companion. " 'Roughing it' is attrac
tive only in sound. Clothing is the
first consideration. Khaki suits for
men and women are tho best thing for
a long trip. A suit of this kind with
two or three good, ensily-washed,
shirts provides the male traveler. The
woman who does not enre to go to
the expense of khaki will find a dark
dress of gingham most satisfactory.
For special occasions n silk dress is
good, with a light coat; or n Ruit with
one white waist and one silk waist.
I For the children, khaki suits are also
'very desirable; in fact, it will pay to
jbuy them if not already on hand. The
Ivory little folks may hnve dresses of
seer-sucker. Inexpensive linene auto
coats are convenient but not essential.
Be sure to have comfortable enps or
! outing hats. Take a sweater for
. everybody.

baby. He will thrive on it. Food
mixed once a day can be carried in a
