A Word of Hope.
Doctors and laymen both fear the
recurrence of infantile paralysis with
-the warm weather. In the June Wom
an's Hone Companion, Dr. Roger IT.
Dennett, while making no prediction
s to what we may expect in the way
of an epidemic, speaks a word of hope
to those whose children have suffered
from the disease.
"So long as any improvement what
ever is taking place in the child's con
dition, we may feel encouraged, and,
continue any necessary treatment
with unabated enthusiasm, for, evpn
after six months or a year, improve
ment in the muscles continues to take
place.
"On the other hand, when no im
provement whatever has taken place,
for instance when the limb is abso
lutely paralyzed, we would be inclined,
after six months of faithful treat
ment, to give, up the battle so far ns
anything in the way of an absolute
cure is concerned. There is one hope
ful outlook, however, and that is that
when once the damage is done, when
once the acute stage of the disease
has subsided, it is perfectly certain
that no further paralysis of the mus
cles will take place."

A Redskin Rembrandt.
A "Redskin Rembrandt" is said to
have been discovered in the person of
Lone Wolf, a young Blackfoot Indian,
whose paintings depicting the won
ders of the Apache country are de
clared by New York critics to be
worthy of a place in the galleries of
the Nation. Roland Conklin of New
York is the Indian's latest patron and
recently purchased a series of studies

new hotel which is being constructed
by the Southern Pacific company for
the purpose of enabling tourists to see
this Arizona wonderland. Lone Wolf
is highly educated and has spent his
life in nrenarinp himself in t,pjiaIii-

and God's color room. It is said that
his original paints were made frpm
natural color clays. He still uses his
thumb in lieu of a brush for obtaining
remarkable cloud effects.
