Pendle ton East Orcgonian. Mona E. Dougherty, Bride of U. O. Grad. Portland, Ore., June 20. (Special) A romance of student days on the University of Oregon campus had its climax here Friday when Miss Mona E. Dougherty, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. iW. F. Dougherty, of Wallowa, Oregon, and Harold Hamstreot, of Sheridan, were manied at the First Congregational church, Dr. Luther R. Dyott, tho pastor,- officiating, and only a few intimate i'riends of the couple being present. Miss Dougherty graduated from the University of Oregon with the June class of 1916. Mr. Hamstreet grad- ! I uated with tho Juno class of 1917. J During their student days the young ' couple were thrvn much together. J Fellow stdents suspected a iromance ; I long ago, but none was taken into the secret of the forthcoming wedding at this time. At clue might have been taken from a recent action of the ' ' bridegroom-to-be, but apparently it wasn't. Where war cansus preparations were announced Mr. Hamstreot, al though still at tho University of Ore gon, was the first man to register in his home precinct at iSheridan. He was entitled to no exemption at that time and claimed none, and had hast ened to register before as a' married man, he said, becamca ineligible under the registration law. The coupel will live at Sheridan. ! i wncre Mr. namstreet is engaged with his father, O. D. Hamstreet, in pub lishing and editing the Sheridan Sun. I!
