They anticipate a very pleasant jour-: ney on the highway. , Strawberry Crop Short. Portland, Ore., June 19. (United Press) Tho Washingtpn and Oregon strawberry crop will be about 50 per", cent of normal, owing to tho unusual ly late spring, and other fruit crops in the northwest will suffer even a, greater loss, according to advices i reaching here, today from various northwestern fruit centers. Only -good weather conditions during tho; next month will snvo half the straw- berry crop, say the growers. Only a fraction of the visual cherry crop will be harvested. Pears will not produce as heavily as usual, and prunes suf- ' fered severely. Grapes in most dis tricts suffered. Apples ulono will produce somewhere nonr a 'normal I crop, although late reports cut down I somewhat the earlier estimates. ARCADE THEATRE ADVANCE SEAT SALE STARTS TOMORROW Have Green Card Handy. Portland, Ore., June 19. ( United j Press) The wise man in Oregon has i his little green registration card handy when ho strolls down the street with a cigar or citrnrette in his mouth. ! Jack Gibson overlooked this little matter. Therefore, ' he is deep in trouble today. If Gibson proves to the satisfaction of the authorities that he is under 21 which he con tends he will be prosecuted under the state anti-cigarette law. If he j cannot establish his age as over 21, ho will be prosecuted by the federal authorities on a charge of failing to register.
