"SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE" ON
WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY
"Somewhere in France," the new
Triangle-Kay Bee production co
starring Louise Glaum and Howard
Hickman, which will be at the Arcade
theatre Wednesday and Thursday, is
a dramatization of the last story
mitten by the late lamented Richard
Harding Davis, one of the most cele
brated American war correspondents
of the decade, and ' u novelist and
playwright of high standing.
The mere fact that the present
story is by the author of "Soldiers of
Fortune," "The Dictator" and many
more that are too well known to re
quire mention here, is a substantial
guarantee of quality. Still, even that
is negligible when it is borne in mind
that the picture is released by Tri
angle, a trade-mark . that stamps
superiority not merely upon one pic
ture, but upon a largo number.
In "Somewhere in France," the new
Triangle-Kay Bee release, Louise
Glaum, noted "siren of the screen,"

dramatists of both screen and the
speaking stage have been impelled to
write vehicles for the vampire type;
but they have had as little excuse for
being, as a rule, as the "heavy" of
the old melodramas, who is a villain
on general principles. On the con
trary, Louise Glaum, as the charac
ter of Marie Chaumontcl, in "Some-
where in France," is a woman who
exerts her sensuous charms for the
specific purpose of stealing military
secrets for the Germans from ' the
French. She cares no more for the
life of a man than she docs for that
of a fly; but her sacrifices are always
made for something infinitely more
tangible than the delight of a vicious
woman in playing upon masculine
weaknesses. The result is interest
ing and exciting.

Preserving Eggs.
Egga to be preserved should prefera
bly be lnfertllo and only a day old.
They should also be clean, but not
washed, as washing makes them por
ous, allowing the solution to enter.
The most successful and cheapest meth
od of preserving 1b In water glass (so
dium silicate). One gallon of sodium
silicate, about 50 cents' worth, will,
when added to fifteen Umcs as much
water, which has been boiled aud cool
ed, be enough to preserve fifty dozen
eggs. The solution should bo prepared
and put in the vessels in a cool place,
then the oggs added as they are gath
ered. There should be at least two
Inches of solution covering the eggs.

A Baok Yard Ferntry.
A fernery In the back yard Is a spot
to conjure with. The north or shady
sldo Is most fitting, and it may lncludo
the hardy brakes, which nre to be
planted In the center, as they grow
tallest, often to a height of four feet.
Around these set the more delicate va
rieties, taken up with the leaf mold in
which they grew In the woods, says
the Farm and Fireside.
Sweet fern, too, heightens the at
tractiveness of a fernery, despite Its
commonness. Ground Juniper, though
of qitlto another family, so much re
sembles ferns In appearance that It
muy swell the list. Spraying overnight
Improves ferns.

There is but little raise in the prices of wall paper over
former years. This raise will average about 5 cents a bolt
or about 40 cents per average room.
Can you afford to endure that dirty, faded, unsightly paper
longer when it will cost so little to have it renewed?
To get these real low prices though, you have to come to
