terday's cattle market was rather a
slow and stickey affair with about
1000 head in the pens. Demand from
killers was limited due to the heavy
purchases made last week. There was

a very good demand from out of town
butchers which put some strength in
the market and took quite a string
at steady prices, although the bulk of
the sales were on a lower basis rela
tively ranging from $10.00 to $10.50;
medium grades of beef were the best
sellers at steady prices, while prime
steers sold mostly 25 cents lower.
Common beef, that is dairy bred stuff
suffered a loss of 50 cents. Several
loads of prime heavy steers brought
$10.85 which was the top, with good
light steers from $10.25 .to $10.50;
medium grade sold around $9.75 to
$10.00; with common steers down to
$8.00. There were only a few cows
here, the best getting $9.25 to $9.50;
with common stuff selling down to
$5.00. Best light veal calves sold
steady at $10.00; a bunch of baby beef
heifers brought $10.00. The general
trend of the cattle market was slow,
the pep it has shown the last few
months being absent.
Hogs.
Hog prices ranged mostly 10 to 15
cents higher, the top was $16.00 for
three loads with another load at
$15.85, the bulk of sales were made
at $15.65 to $15.75 with a few light

The show at the Arcade will begin

o'clock.
The wrestling match will bo a
clean sportsmanlike contest.
Present indications point to a good
attendance of ladies as many, saw the
Berg-O'Neill match and are as en
thusiastic as their gentleman friends.

he is very Bugged and a man of re
markable strength. He is a finished
wrestler, very aggressive and has
been described iby some sporting
writers as "fast as chain lightning."
This is his "come back'' match af
ter being out of the game for several
months, he hits trained faithfully, is
in good condition and says he can
win.
Christensen, his opponent, has
wrestled twice already this month, is
in the pink of condition, is a wrestler
of the modern school and can write
a book on etiquette of the mat. He is
twenty-eight years old, born in Cop
enhagen, Denmark, and came to
America a year and a half ago, '
