"Sally In Our Alley."
When William A. Brady said that
he would personally seo - that each
star acting under contract for him
would be equipped with adequate ma
terial and plays which were suited
to their talents, he never for a mo
ment thought the he would strike the
nail right on the head with his first
personally selected ploy and stars. In
"Sally In Our Alley," wieh is the offer
ing at the Arcade theatre on Sunday
only Mr. Brady presents Carlyle
iBlackwell and Muriel Ostriche in a
play which fits both these picture
stars like a glove, and has all the
bearings of a writtcn-to-order play.
Fans who appreciate and love the
heart interest love-drama should not
fail to see this picture when it is
shown in this city.
FILM NOTES.
Deep mystery surrounds the activ

and various identilcaliou marks are
required before one is permitted to en

was not required to hide Miss Clark as
that could be accomplished by some
thing at least three feet shorter, but
that there are others in the cast who
are not so diminutive.
Pauline Frederick's nile green rac

now it seemB that Miss Frederick had

uses the car to como to the rescue of
Thomas Meighan who is about to be
sentenced for murder.

AGRICULTURAL NOTES.
BY PAUL SPILLMAN '
(County Agriculturist.)
From present indications a large
portion of the alfalfa in this county
has been winter killed. This question
confronts some of our stockmen. They
must either cut down their herds or
produce some cheap feed in place of
alfalfa which they have lost. This
may be done by growing grain hay,
and by the use of silos.
The ilo has come to stay. The
past season has demonstrated ' its
practicability for this county beyond
a question of doubt. There is not a
farmer in Union county that does not
produce a orop that will make good
silage. Wheat, oats, rye, weedy grain,
oats and peas, sweet clover, red clover,
and corn, have all been used as Bilage
craps in this county the past year.
About half the farmers in the coun
ty that have silos intend to build one
or more additional ones this ceason.
During the month of March the steers
at the Experiment Station at Union,
that received twenty pounds of silage
and all the alfalfa hay they wanted,
mode better gains than the cattle that
were getting ten pounds of barley and
all the alfalfa hay they wanted per

head per day.
High prices for hay undoubtedly
confront us. If you have cattle,
either beef or dairy, and a shortage
of feed this coming winter confronts
you, you cannot afford to pass up the
silo without, at least, investigating
its merits. Any of the farmers of the
county that have a silo will be glad to
answer any questions you may ask
them.
Last summer, Mr. W. J. Townley,
of Union, built a silo to test out silage
as a cheap feed to help winter beef
cattle. Along with other people of
that section, Mr. Townley lost a good
portion of hU alfalfa. To help solve
the feed question he contemplates
building three large silos this spring,
and filling them with a mixture of
peas and oats. Other stockmen of the
county, facing a like situation, might
do well to follow Mr. Townley s lead
