cial) The Union County Track meet
will be held at Union on May 12.
Many schools have signified their in
tention of 'being 'present and a rousing
good meet is looked forward to. The
prizes will be follows. Best team.

best athlete, medial; all other events,

Strong competition is going to 'be
shown. The domestic science depart
ment will serve dinner to all partic
ipants and visitors at 25 cents per

The pupils of tho high school are
'working on a comic operetta, "Poca
hantus" to be staged about June 1st

TOASTS TO TWO FLAGS.
On July 4, 1903, at a dinner in
Shanghai, the British consul toasted
(the British flag. He said: "Gentle

until Mr. Eli Perkins was called to
