D. Slater read a splendid paper on "Our Wild Flowers" nd de scribed very knowingly the beauty of our various wild flowers. Mrs. Stella Ingle gave a vivid picture of "Our Natural Scenery." She chose several picturesque places in the Willamette valley and then described our own mountains and beautiful Wallowa Lake. Miss Hilda Anthony delighted the ladies with two piano solos. Miss Milan of O. A. C. who is state chairman of the Baby campaign will (rive a talk in the club rooms Friday May 4. Information on reading for children is contained in the "Children's catalog of 1000 books" at the public library. This catalog is published by the H. W. Wilson Co., a firm which specializes in the publication of catalogs and bi bliographies. Many books are in dexed by chapters, making available much -material otherwise difficult to find without searching. For example an index heading for ird houses" is found in a few pages in "Hall's Handicraft for Handy Boys." Seven books or chapters on Russia are men tioned. The selection of titles is based on the most approved lists, and no one need hesitate to recommend any book listed In the catalog. Hilary, of La Grande, attended Friday at the Seventh- Day Adventist church, Portland, the marrnage of her brother, Dr. Arthur J. Abogg, of Portland, and Miss Daphne Cuddy, of Portland, daughter of W. J. Cuddy, editor of the Weekly Orogonian. Tho ceremony ' was a double affair Miss Gladiolus Cuddy being married' to Dr. Carl P. Getzlaff, of Toledo, Wash., at the samo time.
