(United Plress) Thirty thousand British saloons probably will be closed within tne next few months. English brewers themselves havo suggested a sweeping measure on these lines as the solution of difficulties arising from the re stricted output of beer. At present, ! they say, thero are far too many dis tributing agencies, a third of which i could be put out of business without inconveniencing the public, while trade would bo carried on more eco nomically. England must quench its thirst on ten million barrels of beer a year or go thirsty, undor the recent government restrictions; and the brewers are hurrying to meet the con tingency. Irv the rural districts, in stead of three breweries competing for business in one locality throug-h thirty saloons, twenty of them will be dis continued and one joint firm will sup ply all the beer to tho ten.
