Feb. 10th last day to pay water rent without penalty. 2-8-2t The following were registered at the Imperial hotel, Portland, yester day: Hannah Huffman and Mrs. A. E. Eaton, of Union, and Chester Haugh of La Grande. A group of La Grande business and professional men met informally Tues day at noon for luncheon together at the Foley hotel. It is planned to hold similar luncheons every week, at which a chairman will preside and speakers will be heard on local topics. The speakers Tuesday were City School Superintendent McCullough and High School Principal Hampton. The chairman of the day for next Tues day's meeting is City Manager Cur rey. Those desiring to attend should notify him before Monday noon. There are no dues or membership fees, no formal organization, and the meetings are open to the business and profes sional men of the city who want to at tend and to promote sociability and good fellowship.
