Now comes something different. Mabel Dulon Furdy, the domestic science authority, has originated eight absolute! new recipes and has dedicated thera to famous stars of the screen. These are all tested recipes. This is the first time they have been published. Try Ann Murdock Sandwiches and Shirley Mason Sundaes the next time you want something different for your luncheon menu. LADY EILEEN BISQUE Dedicated to Marguerite Clark, POTATOES, NANCE O'NEIL NANCC O'NEIL. INGREDIENTS. 4 large potatoes, 1 eng. 2 tabiespoonfuls milk. ' 1 level tablespoonful but ter. 1 level tablespoonful chop ped parsley. Orating of onion. Salt, pepper. 4 smalt sausages, parboil ed S minutes. Time: Preparation and cooking, IVi hours. Number served: 4 persons. BAKE potatoes until soft. Remove from oven, cut a slice, lengthwise, from each potato; scoop out the inside, preserving the shells. To the potato add . milk, butter, seasoning and egg, beaten. Mix all together, refill potato shells, place a sausage In the center of each and bake In a quick, hot oven until sausages and tops of potatoes are brown. A slice of bacon may be substituted for the sausage. These are excellent with pohltry or ateak and easily prepared. Add this to the melted currant jel ly. When cool, add the Juice of four lemons, two oranges aiU about one quart . of water and strain. MAB.V P4CK.FOfVOi (Celery and Oyster Soup) INGREDIENTS. 2 cupfuls celery, cut small. 1 quart water. 1 quart milk. 12 large oysters. 4 level tabiespoonfuls of flour, 2 level tabiespoonfuls of butter. Salt, pepper. Few drops onion Juice. Time: Preparation and cooking. 43 minutes. Number served: C persons. (74 c& MARGUEfUTC CLARK.- ADD water to the celery, cook until lender, then add the milk. Melt butter, add flour and mix. Add a spoonful of hot soup and mix until smooth. Now add this thickening to the soup and cook slowly, stirring, until whole is smooth and creamy. Add seasoning, oys . ters; cook a moment longer; serve at once. A delicious soup; also good without the oysters. For special occa sions serve with a siioonful of whipped cream ami a few grains of paprika topping each portion. OOO ABDULLAH SALAD. Dedicated to H. B. Wamrr. PKEL large white grapes. Cut them into halves, remov ing seeds. Pare tauger incs, removing pulp In sections. Mix fruit In equal quantities; season with a very little salt and iepper; add enough olive oil, mixed with a few drops of lemon Juice, to cover the fruit. Serve very cold on a bed of crisp lettuce leaves on individual plates.' In the center of each iortiou place a small cream cheese ball, rolled in iine ly chopited pistachio nuts. . ,.,..r.ul thin salad is' delicious and the color scheme very lovely, ex cellent for .the comimny luncheon or dinner. Oranges may be substituted for tangerines. WAR.rR.; -OOO- ANN MURDOCK SANDWICHES CUT one small bottle pimento olives in thin slices; mix these" with one small, fresh cream cheese; moisten with a spoonful of well made mayonnaise. Spread between thin slices of' buttered white and brown bread, adding a little cress or fringed lettuce and having one side of the sandwich white and the other brown. Cut in small, fancy shapes. These are very good "party" sand wiches, as they are both appetizing and satisfying. ANN MUR.DOCK. -OOO- CRAB FLAKES, LE GUERE INGREDIENTS. Vt cupful butter. 1 cupful sugar, 2 eggs. 1 tablespoonful milk. A level teaspoonful salt. Vi level teaspoonful cinna mon. Grating of nutmeg. 2 level teaspoonfula bak , lng powder. 1 cupful seeded raisins, cut small. y, cupful chopped wal nuts, grated rind of y, lemon, 1 1- cupfuls flour, about. Time: Preparation. JO min utes; baking, II min utes. Number served: Recipe makes SO small cakes. INGREDIENTS. J cupfuls crab flakes (I pound). 2 level tabiespoonfuls or butler. I level tabiespoonfuls of flour. 1 cupful milk. V, cupful cream. Salt, paprika. 1 egg. hard cooked. Time: Preparation and cooking, S minutes. Number served: 4-6 persons. CREAM butter and sugar. Add salt, spices, lemon rind, baking powder, milk and eggs, beaten without separating. Mis aU well together. Add flour, raisins and nuts. OhlU In refrigerator. BoU Into a thin sheet, cut with a heart shaped cutter, placed on a greased cooky pan and bake In a moderate oven. These cookies an, gneclally delicloua for afternoon tea. Corvallis, Ore., Jan. 26. (Special) The Oregon State Drainage associa tion has approved a plan to print the biennial reports and stenographic rec ords of meetings held last two years and thus give other persons inter ested in better drainage an oppor tunity to learn something of the meth ods and results of drainage on wet lands and alkaline irrigated lands. "The drainage sentiment is growing very fast now, and calls for assist ance in planning and carrying on the work are greater than at any time heretofore," says W. L. Powers, head of irrigation and drainage work at the agricultural college and secretary of the state association.
