Thad Sweek, internal revenue in spector, is m the city to give informa tion to Union county citizens who come within thn scope of tho income tax. Several changes in tho income tax law, Mr. Sweek says, make it dif ficult for the people to comply with the law. Mr. Sweek will give infor mation or assist anyone in making out the forms. Since the rate of interest to the farmer depends upon the rate of in terest at which these bonds will sell, congress went the limit to make these bonds attractive so they would sell at . 1 ' , i . mi i l .. a low interest rate, x n uuuuh uic ca empt from all forms of taxation. The government will riot even collect any income tax upon them. No state or municipality may tax them for any purpose. In order to make these bonds ap peal, to investors of all classes they aro issued in denominations of from $25 to $1000. In order to protect them against counterfeiting they are issued by the United States government bureau of engraving and printing and are pro tected .from counterfeiters by the whole force of the United States Sec ret Service. Heretofore it has been practically impossible for the small investor to buy real estate securities. A man or woman who wanted to buy $100 worth of farm securities was not able to find a farm mortgago of just that size. In addition, tho investor would not buy such a mortgage without inspect ing the security. The cost and the bother were barriers which made it almost impossible for the small in vestor to get first mortgage securities. Hereafter it will be possible for any investor who wants to buy farm se curities from $25 up merely to apply for a federal farm loan Dona 01 tne denomination desired. For seventy kilometers he kept up tho pursuit, concealing himself as much as possible from the German machines by keeping behind the clouds. When the French lines at last appeared below him, he emerged in full view and began to fight. Tho German machine nearest him chanced to be an observation plane nnd dart ing down on it ho opened his ma chine gun fire at an altitude of two miles. He killed the observer with his third bullet and with the tenth the pilot shct frcm the machine dead and tho plane beg-.in its whirling course down towards the French lines. Although the machine was tho sec ond one Guyncmcr had brought down that day, ho at once started after the other three, but they in the meantime had disappeared toward their own lines. Without further ado Guyncmcr started in search of his victim and siicceeded.in locating tho machines in the ravine of Mocourt, the plane itself j shattered into fragments and the bod- 1 ies of both the pilot and observer lying within a radius of sixty yards. The fight was witnessed by mem bers of the American Hquadron who are now stationed where they have tho advantage of witnessing some of the exploits of most of the crack "aces" of the French aerial service.
