Oregon is ready for the big game
with Pennsylvania Monday.
Physically the Oregon team is-in
perfect condition, according to Trainer
Hayward. "Whether they are mental
ly prepared for the game we do not
know," said Coach Bezdek. "Much
depends on the weather and local con
ditions after we get there."
Several boxes of Oregon apples
have been provided for the men to
eat, and Trainer Hayward has listed
a special menu for each meal at the
training table. "Brick" Mitchell and
Lloyd Tegart joined the squad at Sun
Francisco and Los Angeles, having
spent Christmas with their parents.

Snyder, Orville Monteith, Floyd Teg
art, John Parsons, Clifford Mitchell,
Shy Huntington, Kenneth Bartlett;

cial) Oregon will defeat Pennsyl

tercity basketball., league including
teams from La Grande, Union, North
Powder and Baker, is being plannend
and La Grande and Union now have
teams already organized, according to
a telephone message received by C. L.
Shaw, secretary of the local Y. M. C.
A. today from J. D. King, secretary
of the La Grande organization.
Mr. Shaw will discuss the matter
with representatives of the other
towns at a conference in La Grande,
when he will play with the local Y.
M. C. A. team upon New Year's day.
The basketball team will be accom
panied by a volley ball team made up
of Baker business men, who will meet
a similar aggregation at La Grande.
