Krause who own the La Grande Meat company in this city, and also own and operate a 1000-acrc farm near Ladd Canyon where they raise much of their stock used in the meat business in town. Twelve years ago theae two brothers first went in to the meat business, but tho farm , t'.rew them, and for a few years they 1 continued to operate their big stock .ranch. The lure of business once more got hold of them and now they are , encased in tho business directory of La Grande, very probably for keeps, j Albert Krause, a Spanish War veter an, and a pleasant, genial, capable businessman, is manager, high poten tiate and prince of the retail market. His brother, C. P.,-conducts the ranch, looking after tho increase of his flocks i nd the ranch generally. Between them they are making a fine success of their business. "We haven't the biggest quarters in the world, but we get efficiency out I of our arrangement here," explained j Proprietor Krause a day or two ago. "Compact, centrally located, and on the best street we figure that there i? little more to be desired.' The La Grando Meat company has unothcr feature. It takes great pride in keeping its windows decorated in "skookum fasion." Jack O'Neal, an expert meat cutter, has a decided penchant for decorating, does most of this work, and practically any old day podestrains can be seen in front of the store admiring the display win dows in this shop.
