The annual hassenpheffer is near at
hand. President L. M. Hoyt of the
Wing, Fin & Fleetfoot club has called
members of the club to join in tho
big annual rabbit drive next Sunday
and the feast will be held the follow
ing week some time.
The unusually heavy snowfall last
year killed off jacks by the thousands
and there is a great scarcity of them
this year on the plains of Telocaset.
For that reason it is necessary that a
big number of hunters go out next
Sunday. Further particulars later.
Casey of Harvard one of Football's
Marvels

New York, Dec. 6. Eddie Casey
tho young back'iclder star of Harvard
is one of the most remnrkable foot
ball players of an ago. His weight,
155 pounds, is the only thing that
keeps him from being rated on a par
with Oliphant of the Army or Harley
of Ohio State.
A graduate cf Exxeter, the school
where Tad Jones drilled football play
ers and made them future greats be
fore he took up his duties with Yalo,
Casey went to Harvard, insisted that
he was a football player, and made
it stick despite hio lightness. Percy
Havghton sprung him on Cornell with
a surprise that was so sudden Cornell
hasn't fully recovered its breath yet.
He simply ran amuck.
Against Princeton Casey again
did some starring, and he virtually
wr.s the entire Harvard bnckfield in
the game with Yalo. Given a real
good baekfiekl star to help him out,
Casey might havo kopt up that string
of victories for tho Crimson over tho
New Haven bulldogs.
Casey isn't of the plunging, smash
ing type. His lack of weight prevents
any such tactics in his play. But he
can hit a line, and hit it hard. He is
a good ground gainer anywhere. His
specialty, however, is tho long, swoon
ing end runs, eluding bunches of
tacklcrs, spinning and twisting for
ward for gains almost unbelievable.
Again Yale Casey showed to ex
cellent (advantage when he broke
around narvaru s rignc ena, snaKing
off three tacklcrs in his sprint, runn
ing into another nest after a thirty-
yard dash, shaking them off, and con
tinuing seventy yards to a touchdown,
which, so far as Casey's work was
concerned was legitimate. The thick
ness of a Harvard lineman who dis
covered a Yale player in the way and
tackled him, alone saved Yale. The
offirals noticed that tackle, called Uio
iball back, and penalized Harvard
fifteen yards for holding.
'But always there is a next year to
football and next year, it seems, this
Casey person will be a force to bo
reckoned with by Harvard's opponcts.
What Was the Matter?
A quiet but sorrowful motorest sat
by the side of a car that was drawn
up near the pavement. A man in
another car, who had passed tho
disconsolate one thnt morning slowed
