Imbler, Oct. 18. (Special) Eighth and ninth graders from . the Imbler school enjoyed a weinor and marsh' mallow roast Thursday evening at the home of Miss Vada Squire. La Grande Family Entertains. Friday evening four auto loads of Bp-worth Leaguers invaded the Ed Boylen home in La Grande where they were royally entertained and enjoyed a very pleasant social time. Those present were Messrs. Albert Squire, Lyle Wilson, Harry Cleaver, Tom Page, W. V. Connor, Ralph Hudson, Willis Byer, Pat Rollins, Joe Keown and Marvin Estes; Misses Mary and Edna Holmes, Hulda and Olga John son, Georgia Berry, Parilla Keefer, Estella Martin, Stella Rollins, Grace German, Ona Hudson and Mrs. Sadie Connor from Imbler, besides the Misses Eula, Minnie and Ina Watkins from Alicel. Clay Fox, William and W. V. Con nor were in La Grande Thursday evening to hear Sen. Norris. Artie McMann and family are here from'TCarney .Nebraska, for a few days visit with Lyman Weeks and Charley Holmes and will make their future home in Idaho. ) ' Harry Waddell has sold his 10-acre apple tract to C. R. Hibbard of La Grande, taking a Franklin touring car in part payment. Mrs. Otto Franklin was down from La Grande 1 ast week and visited sev eral days with Mrs. Walter Westfall. Charley Johnson was over from Pendleton Saturday and his niece Miss Charlotte Day returned with him to attend school in Pendleton. Captain and Ed Tuttle who were over in Wallowa county last week rounding up range horses also suc ceeding in rounding up five or six deer. They brought home one head and antlers which will be mounted. Miss Lucile Cordery was in La Grande Saturday. Rev. Cathers, from Elgin, occupied the M. E. pulpit Sunday evening.
