K'.ilolia's Hawaiian T-u'ir-adors have
leased the Ar.-ade Theater for October
5th and on that date will be eeen in
an elaborate musical program, "The
Paradise of the Pacific." This show
comes very highly recommended. It
recently closed a week's engagement
at the Pickford Theater' Portland
where it played to capacity houses
during the entire engagement.
The company carries their own
scenery and their entertainment con
sists of quartets, solos and several
numbers on the original cigar-box
, violin.
j Kulolia, who heads this aggregation
claims the distinction of being the
I first Hawaiian ever,to tour this coun
try. He filled engagements at the
Buffalo Fair, Panama Pacific Fair,
and but recently came from the San
Diego Fair. He is considered the
foremost Hawaiian tenor in this
country. Others of the company in
clude Princess Ahiene, the Hula-Hula
dancer, Bill Ahlett one of the finest
Hawaiian basso singers and Henry

The story of "Sunshine Dad," com
ing to the Arcade Sunday, the new
Triangle Fine Arts con.edy, in which
DeWolf Hopper stars, revolves about
the theft of a diamond band from a
Hindo shrine. Count Kotckoff steals
the prized jewels, and discovery of
their loss causes the Hindoos to search
vigilantly for them. The Count as
sumes a disguise, and with his pur
loined wealth takes Widow Marri
moro.to a cafe. Thore they mei!t
Alonzo Evergreen, a":porty old gent
leman who is entertaining a party of
chorus girls on a lone silver dollar.
iWlien it comes time t5 settle the bill,
the count slips out with the widow,
leaving Alonzo to pay for several
quarts of wine.
Being watched by the Hindoos the
Count gives the diamond band to Wid
ow Mariimore. She wears it as a gar
ter at a dance, and in the mazes of the
lame duck it falls off. Alonzo picks
it up, and being in convivial spiriU
ha playfully sticks it in his pocket.
The next morning, while at his office,
he discovers the band. Seeing the
widow's advertisement for its return
he wraps it up in a package and en
closes his compliments on one of his
soil's cards.
Alonzo, who has discovered that his
package has disappeared, and learning
that Minerva has taken it, rushes to
Minorva's home. He assumes that she
is wearing tho band as a garter and
he makes repeated efforts to assure
himself of the fact. Just then Fred
npp'nu-s on tho scene with the band,
demanding explanations, which Alon
zo makes.
The Hindoos suspect Widow Marri
more of -having tho stolen, band To
frighten her into confessing, they
gradunlly open tho door of a cage in
which alion is confined.
They are chased by the lion and
have several narrow eseppes ij.-om
death.
The outcome in a screamingly fun
ny series of situations calculated to
make "Sunshine Dad" the best Hop
per leloace so far.
