(SneeiaU. Messrs Fuller, McCanley, and Tuck er steamed up their big threshing en gine this morning and began on An drew Muilenburg's grain. William Banton, who also conducts a thresher, is making preparations to commence at once on the D. W. Miller place, al so in this community. Both concerns will be kept busy for some little time in their own neighborhood, as there are many heavy fields of wheat, oats and some barley. Fanners are very busy getting their grain bound and the weather is ideal for all prepara tions. Mrs. Neill McClure and two little daughters have been at Baker the past two weeks visiting with relatives and contemplate remaining the rest of the month. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peebler and son, Walter, left hero about two weeks ago in their Maxwell car for a trip to Bend, Ore., where they will re main with relatives until the last of this month. School will reopen here September 4th. Miss Ijouisa Counsell, a resi dent of this place will teach. Mrs. L. W. Drumsmith is experienc ing the pains of n sprained ankle. Mr. and Mrs. Dick I'eeblcr arc mak ing preparations for a trip in their Ford to Jackson Hole, Wyo., soon, to visit Mrs. Peebler's brother, John Walker. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Grandy and Phil Krouse motored over to the Mili um in the Grandy Ford a week ago Saturday, where they spent the night, remained all day Sunday fishing. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Peobler went down to Looking Glass in their Ford car, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Regi nald lleryford, where they spent the smne length of time in quest of fish. Only fair catches by both parties were realized as the rain had caused the water to becomo too muddy. The members of the Happy Girls' Club are being entertained this af ternoon by Miss Minnie Drumsmith. Mrs. Mary I. Counsell came home from Joseph Sunday with her brother-in-law, Albert Kinney, in his Chalm ers car, accompanied by her sister, Mrs. Guilla Turr.boutrh and two chil dren, Daisy and Nellie, after a month's visit with relatives at that place.
